About Dholera Special Investment Region (Dholera SIR)
Dholera Special Investment Region (Dholera SIR) is India’s first and one of its largest planned Greenfield Smart Industrial Cities. It is being developed by the Government of Gujarat with support from the Government of India as a key node of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). The project aims to create a world-class destination for manufacturing, technology, logistics, and sustainable urban living.
Key Highlights
- Location: Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, approximately 100 km southwest of Ahmedabad.
- Total Planned Area: About 920 sq. km, making it one of India’s largest planned industrial regions.
- Development Model: A greenfield smart city with integrated industrial, commercial, residential, and social infrastructure.
- Development Authority: Managed by the Dholera Special Investment Regional Development Authority (DSIRDA) in coordination with state and central government agencies.
